Happy Chinese New Year - 2563

According to the Chinese zodiac calendar the New Year falls on January 23 when the Year of the Dragon begins. The dragon, the only animal of the Chinese zodiac year that is not real, is a creature of special significance for Chinese people.

In the Orient the dragon was not seen as a threatening evil being as in the West but rather a symbol of power, superiority and rule.Today it is a really good omen symbolizing success and happiness. The Year of the Dragon is one of the most popular ones in the Chinese calendar and usually the birth rate increases that year because many parents want to have children born under the sign of the dragon.
The people born in the year of the dragon are idealism, perfectionism, enterprise, passion, self-confidence and they demand attention and respect. Do not to infuriate them because the dragon spits fire, but at the same time they are soft and sensitive.
Estonia Post issued this stamp on January 23, 2012 for celebrating the Happy Chinese New Year 2563. Gong Xi Fa Choi.
