Ghosts of Norfolk Island

Stories of ghosts on Norfolk Island abound throughout the history of the island. Therefore Norfolk Island Post issued the stamp series features this story in 4 single stamps with different of face value on June 26, 2007. This issue designed by Emily Ryves.
Norfolk’s unusual history has been painted with chilling stories that are still being told today.

Many of the stories originate from the historic Kingston area – the Royal Engineers Office has been responsible for many unusual happenings.

Also Kingston pier, if visited late at night may show you a very unexpected figure. Many occupants of Government House have heard the haunting sounds of the violin player in the night.

AND if you happen to be driving home late at night, you may meet a mysterious hitch hiker hitching a lift to many locations around the island.
