Portuguese Cheese–1st series

In Portugal, cheese has certainly been produced since Neolithic times.
Cheese making, whichever the cheese, is an art. At least that is the case with hand-made cheese, intuitively worked by experienced hands, where knowledge is passed down from the mother to the shepherd’s daughter who attentively follows every details: The temperature of the hand, the curdling time, the turning of the cheeses and the changing of the bands, the pastures of broom or other graminaceous plants of the higher lands which greatly influence the flavour of the final product.

Classic Motorcycles of Malta

Motorcycle is very popular in Malta. The popularity is proven by the considerable number of its on Malta’s road. Motorcycles are cheaper to run and more practical form of transport, given the congested roads on Malta islands.
Regrettably, the Malta authorities have to this day failed to see the advantage of encouraging the use of two-wheeled transport.
Malta Post has chosen four models of motorcycles from a bygone era, at a time when Britain led the world in manufacturing motorcycles. The models featured on these stamps are a 1903 Minerva, a Matchless model, a Triumph model, and a Royal Enfield motorcycle.

The stamp 1c/Euro 0.02 shown the Royal Enfield motorcycle,  a single-seated 1954 model which had been used by the General Post Office in Malta.This motorcycle was renowned for its beautifully balanced and very fine 350 cc engine, known as the bullet engine.

Spanish Fashion–Manuel Pertegaz

On October 15, 2010 , Espana Post has issued the special souvenir sheet that devoted to the famous couturier Manuel Pertegaz, the Spanish fashion series recalls one his most prominent designers.
Manuel Pertegaz was born in Olbaid (Teruel).  At the age of 12 he began working as an apprentice in a tailor’s shop. He soon discovered his interest in women's fashion. He opened his first couture workshop in Barcelona on 1942. On that same year he presented his first collection characterized by an elegant and original style to which he has remained true throughout his long career. In 1948 he opened a store in Madrid and in 1954 presented his haute couture in the U.S. and in the best stores in New York, Boston, Atlanta and Philadelphia. He was awarded the “Couture Oscar“ by Harvard University.

50th Anniversary of the First Manned Space Flight

On April 12, 2011 the Ministry of Communications and Information of the Republic of Belarus has issued the stamp “50th anniversary of the first manned space flight”.The stamp design is granted to member countries of the Universal Postal Union on the occasion of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the flight of Yuri Gagarin.
Yuri Gagarin was born in the village of Klushino near Gzhatsk (now in Smolensk Oblast, Russia), on 9 March 1934.In his youth, Gagarin became interested in space and planets.  He married with Valentina Goryacheva in 1957, after gaining his pilot's wings in a MiG-15.
In 1960, after the search and selection process, Yuri Gagarin was chosen with 19 other pilots for the Soviet space program.
