On the 8th of May 2008, Croatia Post issued the special stamps depicted the VW Beetle, historical economic car.The model became widely known in its home country as the Käfer, German for "beetle", and the model ultimately took the same nickname in English.
Not any other single car embodies the economic wonder of the 50s of the past century like the "Beetle". It was not only the witness but an important participant in the creation of the new world. Millions of people can thank the "Beetle" on the so far undreamt-of mobility. Millions of streets, in Germany and across the whole world, were witnesses of its triumphant drive. That’s why it should not come as a surprise that it has become the first car in the world with more than 20 million sold vehicles.
