Batik from Indonesia

Batik as confirmed by Indonesian government is national cloth and became one of national identity.This art is a kind of cloth painted or drawn with liquid-wax by certain motifs. Batik has seven base motifs, i.e: Parang, Geometric, Banji, Greeping Plants, Water Plants, Floral and Fauna.

The truth and most valuable of Batik is the written one which is hand painted using a draw made of copper named canting (stylus). The stamp series as shown in the first day cover to commemorate the four kind of batik from different palaces of Indonesia, i.e: Jogyakarta, Madura, Cirebon and Jambi.
